Swathy Krishna M. (2019 - )

Swathy is working on population genetics of tribal populations and indigenous ethnic groups across Southern India to unravel their ancestral origin. She also aims to uncover the underlying genetic markers modulated by their distinctive origin and migration histories that are likely associated with their susceptibility towards various disorders.
Projects carried out by interns, MSc students and undergraduate students

Pooja S. (2021 - )

Pooja is using a genome-wide association (GWAS) based approach to identify genetic variants that differ significantly between COVID-19 patients who are asymptomatic, show mild or moderate symptoms versus those with severe manifestation. She will also assess the putative association between the genomic ancestry of COVID-19 patients and the severity of COVID-19 manifestation.
